Carry copies, not originals

Aadhaar, bank details and any certificates — copies travel, originals stay home.

Open a bank account you can use from both places

And insist on being paid into it.

Agree the terms in writing

Even a WhatsApp message stating salary, hours and accommodation is better than nothing.
