This is a trade with real occupational risk, and most of it is manageable.

Fire and gas

Check hoses and connections. Keep the bench clear of anything that can catch.

Chemicals

Pickling and plating solutions burn. Gloves, ventilation, and never mix what you were not told to mix.

Dust

Polishing dust is a long-term lung risk. Extraction at the bench, and a mask where there is none.

Eyes

Good lighting and magnification, and a proper eye test every couple of years. Your eyes are your career.
